The University Institute of Medical Sciences was established in Dhamar city in 2004 with a license from the Ministry of Public Health and Population:

In 2006, a branch of the University Institute of Medical Sciences was opened in the capital, Sana'a, with 4 medical specialties, namely: (Pharmacy Technician - Laboratory Technician - Medical Assistant):
(Pharmacy Technician - Laboratory Technician - Medical Assistant - Dental Technician)

In 2008, the branch of the University Institute for Medical Sciences was opened in Taiz with 5 medical specialties, namely:
(Pharmacy Technician - Laboratory Technician - Medical Assistant - Dental Technician - Dental Assistant)

The students enrolled in all branches of the institute are considered a wealth to meet the community's need for qualified technical cadres in various medical fields.
