The College of Medical Sciences was established in Al-Hikma, in 2008 AD, among the first three colleges of the university, based on a decision from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. (542) dated 8/26/2008 AD, with the aim of preparing highly qualified doctors, pharmacists and informants to contribute to the medical sector. And health care in the country, providing advanced health care services to the community, and advancing the process of development and scientific research to create a wide environment of expertise and innovation, to keep pace with the current and future requirements in the country and neighboring countries in various medical and health fields in a time of technological and cognitive acceleration and to take its privileged position among similar medical colleges on Educational map locally and regionally.
The college is characterized by the presence of a distinguished scientific environment, highly qualified faculty members, and a solid infrastructure. The college offers bachelor’s degrees in human medicine, surgery, dentistry, pharmacy, laboratory, community health, and nursing. The curriculum is planned to produce qualified graduates who are able to contribute effectively in all fields of science. As a result of the excellence of the college’s outputs in the labor market, the college is recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and many regional and international bodies.
The rapid qualitative changes that the world is witnessing today in various fields of knowledge, technology and development, necessitate us to work and strive to redraw our priorities and develop our scientific and practical goals and policies in line with these constructive changes and in line with their set goals.
From this standpoint, the Faculty of Medical Sciences at our university seeks to employ its full scientific and professional energies and capabilities in order to contribute to the development of medical and health services and advance them to prestigious levels that make them competitive and distinguished at the local and regional levels.
On the academic level, the Faculty of Medical Sciences, as part of the educational system of Al-Hikma University, seeks leadership and excellence in medical and health education by seeking to adopt the policies and regulations of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Council in the Republic of Yemen and international quality systems in order to raise its outputs to levels that are directly proportional scientifically and professionally with the development of requirements The local and regional labor market.
In the field of scientific research, our college aspires to achieve its vision by directing scientific research to find solutions to health problems facing the local community, as well as taking the initiative to build bridges of scientific and research cooperation with many Arab and international universities in addition to various private sector institutions.
