Learning Outputs:

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:

A1: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and theories in the field of basic and supporting sciences and principles of general culture.

A2: Explain concepts, theories, principles and foundations related to the science of civil engineering and its importance in the economy and the environment.

A3: Define the basics of analysis, engineering design and necessary safety procedures in accordance with generally accepted quality systems.

A4: Accurately describe laboratory testing procedures and properties of materials used in the field of civil engineering.

B1: Interpret the results of analyzes, engineering designs, and laboratory tests of materials in a scientific manner, according to the records of practice in civil engineering.

B2: Efficiently innovate creative solutions to design problems and systems in the field of civil engineering.

B3: Practice the scientific and critical thinking skills and various mental skills in evaluating and managing engineering risks and problems in related sciences and proposing the necessary actions to confront them.

C1: Prepare drawings, designs and engineering systems according to engineering needs and standards, and environmental and economic considerations

C2: Cary out experiments and laboratory tests related to the field of civil engineering and expresses their results in a scientific manner.

C3: Effectively use engineering techniques, computer applications, and various statistical and mathematical methods associated with the field of civil engineering.

C4: Analyze data and prepare engineering and economic reports in a systematic manner.

C5: Efficiently manage, supervise and evaluate the engineering project

D1: Communicate with others effectively and express his/her ideas clearly and objectively.

D2: Employ the applications of modern information and communications technology in self-enhancing his/her scientific and professional capabilities

D3: Practice supervision, management, problem-solving and decision-making skills with capability.

D4: Positively perform the assigned tasks alone or in a team, considering legal legislation and ethical and professional standards.

 

Graduate Attributes of the program:

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and civil engineering to real-life professional fields.
  2. Determine suitable building materials that meet various requirements and design criteria, while maintaining safety measures in construction and materials.
  3. Apply critical analytical thinking in identifying, diagnosing, and solving engineering problems with a wide range of complexity and diversity.
  4. Use the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary to practice the profession of civil engineering and implement its projects.
  5. Demonstrate professionalism in the design, supervision, construction, protection and maintenance of civil engineering systems such as structures, water and wastewater resources, transportation systems, geotechnical, building materials, surveying, hydraulic structures and the environment, with consideration to quality, safety and sustainability.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to manage all phases of design, construction and maintenance of various types of building systems, and to carry out, analyze and interpret experimental results.
  7. Conducting feasibility studies, evaluating different alternatives, and choosing optimal solutions within realistic constraints given the impact of engineering solutions on society and the environment.
  8. Work independently and within engineering development project teams as a member, leader or supervisor.
  9. Act professionally while respecting the ethics, standards and practice of civil engineering.
  10. Learning and self-development, engaging in continuous learning and demonstrating the ability to participate in graduate studies and research studies, and to use information resources effectively.
  11. Communicate effectively using various written, oral, graphic, digital and electronic methods.
  12. Handling bids, contracts and financial issues including project insurance and guarantees; and assessment of the environmental impacts of civil engineering projects.

Al-Hikma University is a private educational institution officially licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the number 1358 dated 26/7/2008 AD. The activity of the Al-Hikma Educational Foundation began in 2004 under the name of the University Institute for Medical Specialties, then the name of the College of Wisdom was added in 2007 AD for technical and administrative majors with a license from the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the Ministry of Education, Technical Training and Vocational Training, respectively.
