The Academic Accreditation Council grants national accreditation to three programs at Al-Hikma University

The Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council today in Sana'a granted the national academic program accreditation certificate for the programs of “Pharmaceutical Sciences, Civil Engineering, and Information Technology at Al-Hikma University.”

At the announcement ceremony organized by the Council, the Deputy Minister of Education for Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, congratulated Al-Hikma University on obtaining the national program accreditation certificate for the aforementioned programs and on its role in improving the quality of outputs in line with the changes and needs of the labor market.

He emphasized the importance of encouraging all universities to make efforts to improve their status in order to obtain national academic program accreditation as a minimum requirement for advancing the level of university education, considering academic program accreditation a qualitative leap and addition to the university and an improvement in its performance in the administrative field, student affairs, and education to ensure the quality of outputs.

Dr. Luqman urged Al-Hikma University to continue its development and strive to obtain academic accreditation in the rest of its programs in order to achieve international recognition and internal institutional accreditation. He affirmed the Ministry's efforts, together with the Council, to improve and develop regulations and standards to ensure the development of education and meet the needs of society.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, Chairman of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council, affirmed that academic program accreditation is a national entitlement and a strategic priority followed by global recognition, especially in medical specialties.

He pointed out that all universities in various countries around the world seek academic accreditation to improve their academic reputation, scientific standing, and developmental roles, noting that accreditation is a high ranking in university classifications, the purpose of which is continuous improvement and refinement.

Dr. Al-Haboub explained that academic accreditation has created unprecedented momentum in academic circles and called for efforts to continue along the same path, especially since the university will be continuously evaluated and monitored to determine the extent to which it maintains its high academic standing.

Secretary General of the Council Dr. Mohamed Deifallah noted that today marks the announcement of a new batch of academic program accreditation results, considering accreditation as the beginning of ensuring the continuity and improvement of the educational process, as well as ensuring quality outputs prepared in accordance with the needs and specifications of the labor market.

He promised that academic program accreditation is the result of improving performance and ensuring the continuity of university education to reach the top and strive for international recognition, indicating that the Council will begin, from the moment the accreditation results for any program are announced, to participate in accredited programs to ensure continuity, improvement, and monitoring through periodic reports, field visits, and supervision of this process.

For his part, Dr. Salah Musfir, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Hikma University, and Dr. Mukhtar Dael, President of the University, praised the level of partnership between the university, the ministry, and the accreditation council, which resulted in the university obtaining national academic program accreditation for the programs of "Pharmaceutical Sciences, Civil Engineering, and Information Technology, and the pursuit of accreditation for the remaining programs."

They emphasized that the university has made achievements in medical and engineering laboratories, technical equipment, and expansion of infrastructure and classrooms in order to meet the requirements and standards for obtaining national academic program accreditation and paving the way for international recognition.

At the ceremony, which was attended by the Vice President of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shuaibi, and members of the Council, the Vice President of Al-Hikma University, Dr. Majid Al-Qatwi, and the deans of the university's colleges, the Director General of Accreditation and Licensing at the Council, Dr. Huda Al-Sanhani, and national expert Dr. Noman Fairouz, reviewed the stages and procedures taken to accredit the aforementioned programs, which were completed through 33 procedures, starting with technical support, self-assessment, external review, field visit, decision-making, and follow-up on the accreditation status, until the accreditation stage and the announcement of the decision to grant accreditation and the presentation of the academic accreditation shield and certificate to the university.
