The Faculty of Medical Sciences, under the auspices of the Presidency of Al-Hikma University, is conducting the second scientific conference to present the graduation research of the second cohort from the Department of General Medicine and Surgery.

A scientific conference took place today at Al-Hikma University - Sana'a to examine the graduation research of the Department of General Medicine and Surgery - the second cohort - within the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Four research papers authored by 38 students were presented, addressing the prevalence of normal coronary arteries in type 2 diabetes patients, the prevalence of pathological anxiety disorder among medical students, the types of acquired infections “Hepatitis B&C virus” in hospitalized dialysis patients, and the prevalence of visual impairment among medical students.

 

 

In the discussion, which was attended by former Cabinet member Dr. Hamid Al-Mazjaji and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Hikma University, Prof. Dr. Salah Mesfer, they congratulated the male and female students on the occasion of their graduation and completion of the requirements of the bachelor's program in medicine and surgery from the Department of Medical Sciences, and praised the qualitative research that the scientific conference witnessed, which reflected the outstanding level and skills acquired by students and their implementation of scientific studies and research on a number of health issues and issues suffered by the community and finding the necessary solutions to them.

 

Dr. Majid Al-Qatawi, Vice President of the University, acknowledged the cognitive and medical competencies developed by the students over six years, enabling them to attain graduation and fulfill their national responsibilities in community service. He emphasized Hikma University's commitment since its inception to deliver exceptional education that produces high-quality graduates who contribute to national service and align with the country's strategic goals.
 

 

After that, Dr. Al-Mazjaji and Masfar reviewed the progress of the discussions held, listening to the Head of the Department of Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Hassan Al-Mahbashi. The students participating in the scientific researches were briefed on the progress of their scientific researches, their objectives, their importance in society, and the results reached by these studies, under the supervision of a group of doctors, including Dr. Nasr Al-Qudsi, Head of the Clinical Department at the Republican Hospital, Dr. Abdulwaseem Al-Mujahid, Head of the Internal Medicine Department at the Republican Hospital, Dr. Munira Shahir, Professor of Community Medicine, Dr. Houria Abdul-Raqeeb, Assistant Professor of Research Methods, Dr. Ahmed Qais, Professor of General Internal Medicine, Dr. Amr Al-Kharsani, Professor of Psychiatry, and Dr. Shakib Al-Shumairi, Professor of Ophthalmology.
 

 

The discussion was attended by college deans, department heads, faculty members and parents of the graduates.
